Get “Searched” by LinkedIn …
LinkedIn search engines are like all search engines, they look for keywords; so use them!
LinkedIn is a site that you need to continuously update and change. No matter where you or your LinkedIn contacts go to work, you will always have their contact info.
Starting at the top of your profile, here are a few suggestions on helping get more traction in the LinkedIn search engine …
- Use keywords!
- REMOVE your company name and your title from the “Name” section. Use adjectives that describe your position

Is this TRUE? Do I really need to be on Twitter?
Let’s say you have been successfully operating your own business for the last 5 years or more. You are still not Twittering because you think it’s just for the “young kids”. Does Twitter invade your personal space? Or are you putting too much information out on the Internet?
You need to remember that anything that you post on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Tumblr, Flikr, etc. is going to be permanently out there somewhere, so you should make a reasonable determination of what you actually want published about you, your company and the things you are doing.

It’s July 2010 and I have almost completed my website re-write. I decided to start about two months ago, but actually kicked it off over the July 4th weekend. (Yes, I lead a very exciting life these days.) The best decision that I made was to only reuse my site structure and NOT my current content at that time. The best way to complete this was to actually take the site off line so that I would not be tempted to peak at what I had originally written over 2 years ago.
